The compact and efficient ACM is an economical alternative to gas lasers, which tend to be very bulky and costly, and which typically consume a great deal of power. By employing a pair of anamorphic prisms, an astigmatic lens, and an output aperture, the ACM yields a round beam that imitates a gas laser's naturally circular beam, all in a housing that measures only 1.00 inch in diameter and 2.25 inches in length. The unit operates in automatic power control mode and is ideal for positioning, alignment, and measurement applications.
