Benton, AR — September 29, 2025 — Power Technology, Inc. (PTI), one of the nation’s oldest laser manufacturers, and the Saline County Career Technical Campus (SCCTC) today announced a strategic partnership to strengthen Arkansas’ advanced manufacturing pipeline and prepare high-school students for high-demand careers in electronics and photonics.
Under the agreement, PTI will supervise and assist with on-campus, lab-focused sessions each month, offer structured interview pathways for qualified graduates into roles such as Electronics Assembly Technicians, and serve on SCCTC’s Industrial Technology/Advanced Manufacturing Advisory Council, lending industry expertise in advanced electronics assembly techniques, precision measurement, high-voltage DC fundamentals, and laser-safety awareness (ANSI Z136).
“Arkansas wins when education and industry move in lockstep,” said Walter Burgess, Co-CEO of Power Technology, Inc. “This partnership gives students hands-on exposure to modern manufacturing while creating a reliable, local talent pipeline for advanced manufacturers like PTI. In the days leading up to SCCTC’s bond-burning celebration, it’s another reminder of the momentum behind building a stronger workforce right here in Saline County.”
“This is a meaningful step for our Advanced Manufacturing students,” said Blair Williams, SCCTC. “PTI’s clean-room, electronics, and photonics expertise will help our students build job-ready skills and see a clear path to careers right here in Saline County.”
Arkansas has doubled down on employer-informed training through the HIRED program and initiatives championed by the Governor’s Office and the Division of Higher Education. With SCCTC’s SalineSync award positioning Saline County to lead in advanced manufacturing, this partnership ensures students build the precision-electronics skills local employers need now.
