LITTLE ROCK, Ark
Oct. 12, 2022 – Power Technology proudly accepted the Innovation & Impact in Manufacturing Exporter Award at the 12th annual Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade on October 5, 2022. The gala awards dinner, hosted by the Arkansas District Export Council (AR DEC), began that evening with a networking reception for the Arkansas business community at the Governor’s Mansion. This is the second time Power Technology has been honored with a Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade.

The Award recognizes the export successes and excellent quality among Arkansas’ manufacturing and agricultural companies actively trading in international markets. Governor Asa Hutchinson and Jonathan Bricker, Chair of AR DEC, presented Power Technology with a trophy and certificate during the awards ceremony. It will be profiled throughout the year as part of the Winners of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade on the ARDEC website and social media.

“I thank the Governor for this recognition and am honored to accept a Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade on behalf of the company now for a second time,” said Wiliam Burgess, co-CEO of Power Technology.  “At Power Technology, we are dedicated to increasing our export business worldwide to more than 45 countries. We currently have exclusive distribution agreements in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Israel. Our business began on a kitchen table in Little Rock and we are proud of how it has grown from that to become a global presence that is still based right here in Central Arkansas,” he said.

At the event, keynote speakers included Governor Asa Hutchinson and Secretary of Commerce Michael Preston.  Roby Brock of Talk Business & Politics moderated a roundtable discussion of not only of Arkansas exports, but also all the economic successes of Governor Hutchinson’s past eight years in office. Arkansas PBS live-streamed the event.

Five other Arkansas companies were also honored for innovative approaches to international business, consistently growing market share, and expanding their global presence.
