Little Rock – Jan. 3, 2024 – Power Technology is celebrating its 55th year in the laser industry. In 1969, Power Technology began on its founder’s kitchen table and went on to become a pioneer in the global photonics community.
“It began with a request to build a power supply for a Helium-Neon gas laser,” said Thomas Burgess, Founder of Power Technology. My previous career as an engineer in the telecom and defense sectors gave me the tools to create a power supply that was roughly 50 times smaller than what the customer was using at the time. After delivering a prototype, the client was initially skeptical but returned two weeks later with requests for six more units for its largest order ever. With that, the company was born.”
Today, Power Technology designs, manufactures and distributes a wide variety of advanced laser technology primarily for the defense, life science, and semiconductor industries. From laser diodes to DPSS lasers to HeNe laser power supplies, it builds laser light sources for a wide variety of high-fidelity, analytical applications.
