Power Technology Reintroduces Handheld Infrared Viewers with All-New IRV3 and IRX3

ALEXANDER, AR — December 10, 2025 — Power Technology, Inc. (PTI), a U.S. designer and manufacturer of precision laser solutions since 1969, today announced the relaunch of its handheld infrared viewer portfolio with two entirely new product families: IRV3 and IRX3. The introduction marks PTI’s return to the IR viewer market after more than two decades of supplying high-quality instruments to research, industrial, and field-service teams.

The IRV3 is a performance-focused family of viewers with model-dependent spectral options (e.g., configurations reaching into the 2.0 µm band). A high-grade image converter provides crisp, high-contrast visualization through C-mount 1× and 2× objectives, supporting precise alignment and inspection. IRV3 features USB-C charging, extended runtime (up to ~60 hours per charge), and a ¼-20 post/tripod interface for stable, hands-free operation. 

The IRX3 is a compact, field-ready viewer covering 400–1700 nm, designed for mobility and rapid deployment. IRX3 shares the same C-mount 1×/2× lens architecture with manual focus and iris control, and it is powered by two swappable 18650 cells for approximately 11 hours of continuous operation—ideal for service carts and production lines.

Both IRV3 and IRX3 convert invisible near-IR/SWIR radiation into a bright visible image for laser alignment, stray-reflection detection, and inspection. Each detects continuous-wave and pulsed sources (ps–µs) without synchronization and stabilizes easily via ¼-20 mounting.
