Little Rock – Feb. 21, 2024 – Power Technology announces its International Sales Engineer, Mark Hamer, will be sworn in as the newest Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany at 6 p.m. on February 28 in Little Rock. As the first and only local German Consul, Hamer will serve as a direct contact for matters relating to German nationals in the State of Arkansas.
“Having spent time overseas myself, I understand the important need for nearby access to consulate services,” said Hamer. “I am looking forward to embracing this position to not only provide those services for German nationals, but also help make Arkansas an even more attractive place to do international business.
In addition to the Consulates General, Hamer will join the many other Honorary Consuls located throughout the U.S. for local support. Honorary Consuls are called “honorary” because they perform their work on an honorary basis as volunteers.
“International business is part and parcel to the lifeblood of Power Technology,” said William Burgess, co-CEO of Power Technology and former chairman of the Arkansas District Export Council. “We are proud to have a member of our team who chooses to volunteer his time to provide consulate services. Mark’s extensive overseas experience makes him an excellent choice to serve in this position and help expand Arkansas’ international stature.”
The Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany will officially swear Hamer in at a private ceremony and reception on the evening of February 28 among invited guests. Credentialed press members are welcome to attend. Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 6 p.m.
