Power Technology Wins Arkansas Governor’s Awardpowertechno
Little Rock, AR – Laser diode products manufacturer Power Technology, Inc. (PTI) received the Arkansas Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade for Technology. The Governor’s Award, which was announced by Governor Mike Beebe together with the Arkansas District Export Council, is intended to highlight the importance of international trade on the State’s economic stability and growth. PTI is a high-technology exporter that impacts the international marketplace through its design, manufacture, and global distribution of laser diode products and components.
Graham Catlett, Chairman of Governor’s Award Committee, said, “Power Technology and its company’s leadership are smart, innovative, and flexible–all traits of highly motivated American exporters that successfully compete in today’s fast-paced global economy. The Arkansas District Export Council is pleased to award Power Technology the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade for Technology.” Catlett summarized by saying, “Power Technology is a model for Arkansas technology companies developing markets throughout the world for quality products and services produced here.”
“We are very proud of the recognition by Governor Beebe and the Arkansas District Export Council and of the growth in our export business which now reaches over 40 countries,” said William Burgess, PTI VP of operations. “We sell laser products worldwide from our Little Rock facility, as well as through sales offices in California and Canada. With the help from our network of fourteen international distribution partners, Power Technology has grown exports to 20% of our total business.”
